Moose are the largest member of the deer family and are easily identifiable by their immense size, and in the case of males, their fan-shaped antlers. Moose account for the second most injuries caused by an animal worldwide, primarily due to car accidents.

History: Moose populations are stable across the world, and in some regions they are actually artificially inflated for the purposes of hunting. However, researchers predict that as climate change warms the Northern Hemisphere, moose will lose parts of their habitat since they can only live in very cold areas. Similarly, human activity that causes habitat loss and fragmentation has a detrimental effect on the global moose population, and in combination with climate change could pose devastating for moose numbers.
